|Sarah Matches, DO|
In an op-ed published in the Sept. 20 edition of the Star-Telegram, UNT Health Science Center pediatrician Dr. Sarah Matches writes that the recent local outbreaks of measles and whooping cough should serve as a wake-up call for you and your children to get vaccinated.
"Within the medical community, there is no doubt about the value and wisdom of vaccinations," she writes. "They've been used to defeat smallpox and dramatically decrease the incidence of polio, diphtheria, tetanus and, yes, measles and whooping cough."
